ISN Hubs – Journey So Far & The Continuous Strides To Deepen Innovation In Nigeria

ISN Hubs – Journey So Far & The Continuous Strides To Deepen Innovation In Nigeria

Innovation Support Network (ISN) Hubs, Nigeria’s largest community of innovation Hubs, is pleased to invite members, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders to their upcoming Town Hall meeting. The Town Hall will take place on Zoom on April 27th, 2023, at 4PM WAT, and will give attendees the opportunity to learn about our initiatives, progress made, and future plans.

At the Town hall meeting, ISN Hubs will present a report on its first-of-its-kind Board and Secretariat Workshop and Retreat, led by two external facilitators who are both authorities in their fields: Biyi Oladipo, Senior Consultant, Profiliant Development Resources, and Idotenyin Isaac, Managing Partner/Lead Consultant, GEORGID Consulting.

This report outlines ISN’s achievements, difficulties, and long-term goals and will provide valuable insights into their operations and help in making more informed decisions moving forward.

This Town hall meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for ISN members, partners, and interested individuals to learn more about their initiatives, contribute to their successes, and connect with other like-minded individuals.

In keeping with its commitment to maintaining continuity for ISN Hubs, Tomi Davies, the former ISN Board chairman, and Christie Eze, our long-term serving company secretary, are currently transitioning. Whilst Tomi Davies will continue to provide advisory, Christie will onboard Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL) as our new honorary legal partner and company secretary.

This April, the Board will constitute three committees to deliver constitutional review, succession planning and annual gathering 2023 implementation which is slated to be held in Abuja come September this year.

It is also pertinent to announce that ISN has deepened its collaborations with GIZ – DTC as a strategic national partner and Afrilabs for program collaboration.

The 2nd phase of the Ford Foundation funded DAFIM project,  the LASRIC Collabovate program and the GIZ DTC program rollout are currently in various stages of implementation. These programs present continued opportunities to foster value proposition to its member hubs and the nation in general.

A statement released by the board states; “we appreciate our members, who have always been the heart and soul of our organisation. We value their contributions and are grateful for their unwavering support and dedication, which have been essential to our success. We also acknowledge our partners, who have believed in us and supported our initiatives over the years, including Ford Foundation, GIZ Digital Transformation Center Nigeria, NITDA, LASRIC, Innovate UK KTN, AfriLabs among others.”

It further reads, “We believe that the success of both our members and partners, as well as ISN, depends on having a strong organisational culture. And as such, we have engaged an HR professional to guide us in building one.”

ISN acknowledges the efforts of their untiring Acting Executive Secretary, Moyinoluwa Joseph and the Secretariat team, who have been crucial to the advancement of the organisation. According to the ISN board, their invaluable contributions have made the organisation achieve its current standing.

The organisation is glad to welcome Maimuna Yusuf Ahmad and Jennifer Jonathan on board. Both of them will be working in the roles of Programs & Partnerships Officer and Programs Officer, out of Abuja and Lagos respectively.

The establishment of a presence in Abuja is to further deepen collaboration and interaction with the government as well as show national spread.

Finally, ISN appreciates its erstwhile Executive Secretary, Nneka Ukay, for her outstanding work in building a solid foundation for the organisation and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
